Georgian Studies Day 14 November 2007 at the University of Westminster
A report by NKA member Claire Watkins:
The 2007 Georgian Study Day, marking 20 years of just such meetings, was fascinating to me as a first time participant.
Recent events in Georgia contributed to a larger number of participants this year.
Representatives from the Foreign Office and the Economist were seated next to me and were first on their feet with questions for the Georgian Ambassador.
There was an impressive array of speakers and topics covered from start (10am) to finish (6pm). At break times I had the opportunity to speak to others informally and discuss their links to Georgia.
Newport's association with Kutaisi continues to be rich with remarkable links and will soon be celebrating its own 20 year anniversary of friendship.
